A Blast From the Past

This here picture is from my days as a CIT (Counselor In Training) circa 1975. Can you guess as to who I am? The guy in the Red pants is Tony Johnson, the gentleman I plan on visiting on my next venture to CLT in April. He lives in McCleansville, NC, which is just about an hour and a half according to one local I know that lives in Charlotte.

I'm sure you all have more questions, so I'll just wait for ya to ask.

For those who may not know, I've been working in the local UAL flight office lately. At least for the months of October and November. You may remember that I worked there back in 2008 & 9.
  
Well its been quite a time getting back into the culture of working in an office again, but I've enjoyed it tremendiously. And this was no exception, with working on making sure pilots complete training that has been required due to the merger with CAL. Its all the New United now, so maybe we are on our way to becoming a great airline again.  The only problem with working in the office that I have less time to write.

Anyway, I've been inspried by my friend the NSEG who has started a blog as well, to mabe change the direction of my blog. So far I think he's putting out a more interesting bolg than myself at this point. So maybe I should talk more about Safety with Fun stuff. 

Looking for some comments on that.

Airlines still a potential Target

A potential hijacker on an Alitalia flight was overpowered by members of the cabin crew together with other passengers, after apparently holding a knife to a flight attendant.

The incident on Sunday night, took place on a scheduled flight from Paris to Rome operated by one of the airline’s MD80s.

The hijacker, described as a Kazakh diplomat working for UNESCO, had demanded that the flight be diverted to Tripoli.

The aircraft landed safely at Rome’s Fiumicino airport where the man was handed over to police.

The female flight attendant was treated at the airport for minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
